Our commitment to criminal justice and reentry work extends beyond direct services—we actively engage in ongoing learning, advocacy, and collaboration to better serve individuals impacted by incarceration. We believe that meaningful change requires not only supporting individuals, but also staying informed, influencing systems, and working alongside organizations dedicated to justice and restoration.

A core part of this commitment is remaining knowledgeable about current issues within the criminal justice system, particularly those related to corrections and reentry. Laws, policies, and best practices are constantly evolving, and staying informed allows us to provide relevant, effective support. We actively follow developments at the local, state, and national levels, ensuring that our work reflects both current realities and emerging opportunities for reform. This knowledge also enables us to better guide participants as they navigate complex systems and requirements.

In addition to staying informed, we are deeply committed to advocating for justice, mercy, and compassion within the criminal justice system. We recognize that individuals impacted by incarceration often face significant barriers, stigma, and systemic challenges. Our advocacy work seeks to elevate understanding, reduce stigma, and promote approaches that emphasize restoration rather than punishment alone. By engaging in thoughtful dialogue and community education, we aim to foster a more balanced and humane perspective on justice.

Collaboration is central to our approach. We actively participate in and contribute to organizations and coalitions that are working to improve outcomes for returning citizens and strengthen the broader system of support. Through these partnerships, we are able to share insights, stay connected to resources, and contribute to collective efforts that extend beyond any single program.

Our involvement includes engagement with organizations such as the Pennsylvania Prison Society, where advocacy and oversight efforts help ensure that the voices and rights of incarcerated individuals are recognized. We are also active in the Centre County Reentry Coalition, a collaborative network focused on improving reentry outcomes at the local level. This coalition brings together service providers, community leaders, and stakeholders to address gaps, share resources, and coordinate efforts.

Additionally, we participate in the Centre County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, contributing to discussions that shape policy, practice, and collaboration across the local justice system. This involvement allows us to bring a reentry-focused perspective to broader conversations about public safety, rehabilitation, and community well-being.

At the state level, we are engaged with the Pennsylvania Reentry Council (PARC), a key body working to improve reentry systems and outcomes across Pennsylvania. Our role includes serving as Co-Chair of the Restorative Justice Subcommittee, where we help guide initiatives that emphasize accountability, healing, and reconciliation. This leadership position reflects our commitment to advancing restorative approaches that benefit individuals, victims, and communities alike.

Through this combination of ongoing education, advocacy, and active participation in key organizations, we remain deeply connected to the broader landscape of criminal justice and reentry. This engagement strengthens our ability to serve individuals effectively while also contributing to meaningful, system-wide change.

Ultimately, our work is grounded in the belief that lasting impact requires both direct support and broader engagement. By staying informed, advocating for compassionate approaches, and collaborating with partners across the system, we strive to create pathways not only for individual success but for a more just and supportive community as a whole.
