Our employment support services are designed to help individuals impacted by incarceration successfully reenter the workforce with confidence, purpose, and a clear path forward. We understand that securing meaningful employment is one of the most critical components of successful reentry—and often one of the most challenging. That’s why our approach goes beyond job placement, focusing instead on long-term career development, skill alignment, and sustainable opportunities.
We begin by helping individuals identify and access employment opportunities that align with their existing skills, interests, and experiences. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work closely with each participant to understand their strengths and potential. Whether someone has prior work experience, vocational training, or transferable skills developed during incarceration, we help translate those abilities into viable employment pathways. This personalized approach increases the likelihood of not only securing a job, but finding one that offers stability and growth.
A key part of this process is helping participants generate a clear and actionable list of employment goals. These goals provide direction and motivation, breaking down what can feel like an overwhelming process into manageable steps. We work collaboratively to identify both short-term objectives—such as preparing a resume or applying for specific positions—and long-term aspirations, like advancing in a trade or building a career in a particular field. This structured goal-setting process helps individuals stay focused, organized, and accountable as they move forward.
To support these goals, we also connect participants with additional education and training opportunities. For many returning citizens, gaining new skills or certifications can open doors that might otherwise remain closed. We help identify programs that align with their career interests, whether that includes vocational training, certifications, apprenticeships, or continuing education. By linking education directly to employment goals, we ensure that each step taken is purposeful and contributes to long-term success.
Our services also include direct collaboration with recruiters and employers who are open to hiring individuals with justice-involved backgrounds. We actively work to build relationships with businesses that recognize the value of second-chance hiring and are committed to providing fair opportunities. Through these partnerships, we help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, advocating for our participants and helping them navigate the hiring process with confidence.
In addition to these connections, we provide employment referrals that match participants with relevant job opportunities. These referrals are thoughtfully aligned with each individual’s skills, goals, and readiness, increasing the chances of a successful placement. We don’t simply point individuals toward open positions—we help ensure they are prepared to pursue and secure those opportunities.
Throughout this process, we emphasize not only obtaining employment, but maintaining it. Participants receive guidance on workplace expectations, communication, professionalism, and conflict resolution—skills that are essential for long-term success. By focusing on both preparation and retention, we help individuals build a stable foundation for their future.
Ultimately, our employment support services are about more than finding a job—they are about creating opportunity. By combining personalized guidance, goal setting, education, employer partnerships, and ongoing support, we empower individuals to build meaningful careers and move forward with confidence. Through this work, employment becomes not just a necessity, but a pathway to independence, stability, and renewed purpose.
